Our volunteers are the true pioneers of tenants’ rights, and the absolute lifeblood of our organisation! Opportunities presently exist in the following areas:
Safe and secure housing is a basic human right. Yet many tenants in Victoria find their housing is insecure and unaffordable. Common problems don’t get resolved and their home can feel more like hell than a haven. For more than 40 years the TUV has been working towards making renting better and fairer for Victorian tenants.
We provide accessible advice and assistance through our team of advisors, resources for tenants to help themselves (see our website), and we promote positive change in tenancy practices to make a long term difference for all tenants.
The rented housing sector is changing, there are more tenants, more families with children and they are staying in rented housing for longer periods. We aim to respond to their needs and we need your help.
If you are passionate about the role of housing, in helping people thrive or more simply concerned about how tenants fare then you may be able to help us. We want the right people to meet the challenges ahead. We are looking for Directors with extensive professional experience and significant executive leadership accomplishments in business, government, philanthropy, or the non-profit sector with an understanding of not for profit governance and a commitment to improving rights and services for tenants.
